Green Party Presidential Candidate Dr. Jill Stein is joining with Libertarian Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson in calling for the Presidential Debates to be open to more than just the 2 major corporate parties.
Below is the Change.org petition- please consider signing it!
Jill Stein will start her California trip with Kahlil Jacobs-Fantauzzi, Green Party Candidate for Mayor in Berkeley. The event will serve as a fundraiser for the Stein campaign to help cover the costs of our California campus tour.

*** Urgent endorsement meeting announcement! ***
(This does NOT affect the general meeting already planned for later this month)
The Steering Committee of the Berkeley Greens, a certified local of the Alameda County Green Party, has called for an emergency meeting to discuss the GPAC County Council’s endorsement on Measures N & O that counter our local’s endorsements, as well as the Council’s splitting of the Rent Board endorsement.
We believe the County Council made its decisions last night based on false information given at the Council meeting by individuals who had not participated in any of the Berkeley Greens discussions of these issues.
Any Berkeley Green who has attended an official Berkeley Green meeting in the last 25 months may vote on agenda action items.
Here’s the agenda:
1. consideration of Berkeley Measure N endorsement.
2. consideration of Berkeley Measure O (both about the Warm Pool) endorsement.
3. consideration of corrected Berkeley Rent Board endorsement.
location at meeting:
2022 Blake St.
Berkeley, CA 94704

We are reactivating the Berkeley chapter of the Green Party in order to evaluate candidates and city measures and make endorsements, much like we did during the 2010 election season!
The Alameda County Greens need our endorsements by early September so that they can go into our county-wide printed voter guide, so all of this will be happening in the next few weeks.
We will be sending out questionnaires to candidates and then rate & endorse those candidates, as well as the various local measures, at a meeting towards the end of August.
We’ll know who’s running in most local races by the end of this week, Friday August 10th, and in all races by Wednesday August 15th.
In Berkeley, the following seats are open:
Council Districts 2, 3, 5, 6
4 x Rent Board Members
2 x Members of the Board of Education
If you’ve been a part of our endorsement process before & want to participate, please leave a comment here!
Stay tuned to this site as well as to our Berkeley e-mail list for updates.
