Berkeley Green Local Endorsements for November 2008

Today our endorsement meeting voted & chose the following Berkeley Green Party endorsements. They will become official once the Alameda County Council approves them next week & will appear, with explanations in next month's Green Voter Guide. Thanks to all of the candidates & Greens who participated!

All races had "No Endorsement" as a choice, as well as the option for "with Reservations," which means that the Voter Guide will discuss the pros & cons in depth. 2 races were split 50/50 because of the # of ballots & low number of 2nd & 3rd choices marked by voters. These 2- District 2 & Measure KK- are marked as no endorsement & the writeups will reflect the opposing viewpoints & emphasize that we deadlocked on them.

Mayor- No Endorsement
City Council District 2- Split decision between No Endorsement & Darryl Moore with Reservations, default is no endorsement
City Council District 3- Max Anderson with Reservations
City Council District 4- Jesse Arreguin
City Council District 5- Sophie Hahn with Reservations
City Council District 6- Phoebe Anne Sorgen with Reservations
Rent Board- Progressive Slate- Drake, Harrison, Shelton, Townley, Tregub (5 open seats)
School Board- John Selawsky only (2 open seats)

Measure GG Fire/Emergency/Disaster - Yes
Measure HH GANN Limit override - Yes
Measure II Redistricting timeline - Yes
